Helpful information for families

Nature Grove Child Care Agency is pre-operational and currently completing the Ontario Ministry of Education licensing process. We are committed to transparency and clarity as we prepare to offer safe, nurturing, high-quality home child care across Simcoe County and neighbouring Ontario communities once approved.

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find answers to common questions about our pre-operational licensing status, our planned participation in CWELCC, how licensed home child care works, and what families can expect before we launch.

When will Nature Grove begin offering child care?

Nature Grove is currently completing the Ontario Ministry of Education licensing process. We plan to begin operating once licensing is fully approved and suitable CWELCC funding is secured.

Are you currently accepting children or managing a waitlist?

Not yet. Because Nature Grove Child Care Agency is pre-operational, we are not actively enrolling children, accepting placements, or maintaining an official waitlist at this time.

Where will Nature Grove offer home child care services?

Our primary focus is Barrie and Simcoe County, but we may also consider other Ontario communities in the future depending on CWELCC funding availability and local community needs.

Will Nature Grove participate in the CWELCC system?

Our goal is to participate in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system, subject to official municipal and provincial approval, funding availability, and program guidelines in effect when we open.

What might parent fees look like under CWELCC?

Current parent fees in participating CWELCC programs across Ontario are typically around $22 per day, depending on the service management area, funding agreements, child eligibility, and policies active at the time of launch.

How does licensed home child care compare to centre-based daycares?

Licensed home child care offers a warm, smaller home environment while adhering strictly to provincial standards. Provider homes are inspected prior to opening and monitored through regular scheduled and unannounced visits to uphold health, safety, and learning guidelines.

What will daily routines and learning look like in provider homes?

Routines include balanced meals and snacks, outdoor time, rest, creative play, and child-led exploration. Guided by Ontario’s "How does learning happen?" pedagogy, children benefit from small group sizes, consistent educators, and rich mixed-age interactions.

How can families stay updated on your licensing progress?

We encourage families to check back here regularly. As soon as our provincial licensing is finalized and we are permitted to welcome children, we will post full details on availability, neighbourhoods, and enrolment steps.
